Abstract

This research work has been conducted for first time in Iran for determination of most optimal thermic shock on triploidy induced and sterilization of the rainbow trout. This work has been done by heat shock within 10 minutes on different times after fertilization (between 1-40 minutes) and defferent tempratures (26-29°C).
The nuclear and cellular area and volume measurment of erythrocytes were determined among blood smears of fingerlings and by computing statistic analysis showed that induction of triploidy was conducted in 27-100% on various treatment, but highest triploid yield was achived by thermal shock on 26°C within 10 minutes, 40 minutes after fertilization. Diagnostic of fish triploidy also was approved by chromosome smears.
