Abstract

Pneumonic lungs of 9 calves at abattoirs, were examined. Grossly there were patchy purple - red atelectatic and meaty consolidation foci in cranioventral regions of the lungs.
Microscopically, the lesions included bronchitis, chronic catarrhal
bronchiolitis, bronchointerstitial pneumonia with cuffing pneumonia.
These lesions, indicate the role of ureaplasma or some mycoplasmas as causative agents. Ureaplasma was isolated from pneumonic lungs.
