Maedi is chronic progressive pneumonia of sheep. The specific lesions occur in the lungs and tracheobronchial nodes. In this study a total of 1845 Pairs of old ewe lungs were examined in Ahvaz slaughterhouse. In this study 18 percent (10/55) from interstitial pneumonia and 7.5 percent (10/1 38) from total observed lesions or 0.54 percent (10/1845) from total inspected lungs had maedi like lesions. In addition in this study 200 serum samples sheep flocks and 200 serum samples from Ahvaz slaughterhouse were collected and tested for the presence of antibodies by AGIDT. In this test all of the control serum were positive but non of the serum samples showed positive reaction.
