Abstract

In order to indicate the prevalence of pyelonephnitis in cattle slaughtered at Tehran province abattoires, 405 cattle were examined clinically and Para clinically. Histopathological study showed that one case suffered from pyelonephnitis and in bacterial culture, E. coli was isolated from both urine and renal tissue samples. Specific gravity of the urine sample was 1.032, pH was 6 and in microscopic examination WBC and RBC counts were 30-40 and 8-10 respectively, in high power field. Many bacteria, granular casts and WBC clumps were also seen.
