In this study, cellulose acetate electrophoresis was conducted on 38 serum samples from clinically normal Kurd horses of both sexes and various ages. One fasting blood sample from each horse was collected by jugular puncture and serums were separated. Total protein concentration was determined by Biuret reaction. Based on 2.5 and 97.5 percentiles were calculated for total protein, AJG ratio and the detected fractions: Total protein 6 1-79. lg/L, A/G ratio 0. 61-1.24, albumin 28.9-37g/L (37.9-55.39%), post albumin 0.44-2.lg/L (0.58-2.93%), ?1 -globulin 0.52-2.31 g/L (0.79-3.13%), ci2- globulin 3.93-8.67g/L (5.88-12.08%), 3-globulin. 10.23- 21 .9g/L (15.64-28.13%), y -globulin 8.1 -20.O9g/L (12.01-
28.85%). A positive correlation between age and y -globulin concentration was found in kurd horses. Comparing with the electrophoretic pattern of other Iranian horse races, presence of post albumin in this study is a new finding.
