Many freshwater mollusks act as host snails for parasitic trematodes of medical and/or veterinary importance. For this reason, most freshwater bodies of Baluchestan and Sistan Surveyed for potential intermediate host snails. Fourteen taxa, inscuding 12 at species level versus 2 genera found during 2 records for Iran mollusc searches in 1990. Indoplanorvis exustus and Lymnaea rufescens contributed as new records for Iran.
